The National Trust has confirmed that it will be renovating Cheese Abbey in Cheshire
magpies like to look at cheese. some years ago i had a slice of cheddar outside my window - almost every day for 7 months a magpie came to look at it, though they never tried to eat it - they just had a look and then went about their business.
Apparently, Philidelphia cheese was named after a state in America, although I can't remember which one.
Rugby balls are made from edam. However, in the old days a pig's bladder would be used but it wasn't very nice to nibble on at half-time
A friend once reliably informed me that if you place equal squares of Cheddar and Red Leicester cheese on toast and melt gently under a grill, you can formulate the most wonderful mosaic. (Apparently it also tastes yummy as well).
